A gym and changing room worthy of the home it belongs to.

Having spent years transforming their home in Radlett into something exceptional, Claire and Raymond approached their garden gym with the same exacting standards. They weren’t new to procuring building work and they weren’t going to settle. Before appointing Primrose, they visited our Borehamwood display room and saw a live project for themselves. Only then did they commit.

The brief was clear: a dedicated gym and changing area for guests using the nearby pool, finished to a level that matched the professionally landscaped garden surrounding it. The new decking area extends the usability of the garden further still turning what had been an underused space into somewhere worth spending time.

Built to a brief. Not to a brochure.

Claire and Raymond considered a number of garden room builders before choosing Primrose — and that process matters. Every Primrose room is bespoke, which means the starting point is always the client’s brief, not an off-the-shelf product. For this project, that meant understanding how the gym would interact with the pool, the landscape, and the wider flow of the garden before a single decision was made on materials or layout. The result is a room that feels considered from every angle, because it was.

Claire and Raymond were not newcomers to procuring building work and engaged Primrose only after visiting the Borehamwood display room and seeing a live project “in the flesh”

The brief was to create a gym and changing area for guests using the nearby pool. Naturally, only a very high level of attention to detail and finish would be acceptable. The proffessionally landscaped garden and nearby pool area provide a fantastic backdrop for the new space. The decking area provides greater amenity in the garden for relaxing and enjoying the hitherto underutilised space.

All Primrose garden rooms are bespoke, in taking this approach Primrose can listen, understand and then work to a client’s brief.  Claire and Raymond understood this and considered many other garden room builders before choosing Primrose!

Take for example, its 3m external height and large “frameless” skylight which create a light and spacious place to work-out. Look closer and you will see a discrete storage room which is set back from the gym and wraps around behind providing a huge 20m2 of workshop storage space.
